You should wear something sparkly, shiny or something like silver. Maybe you might even have something that may be similar to diamonds. It would deffinately brighten up the room and it would show even more, with the strapless part of your dress. Otherwise, it would look to bare, without any jewelry in that area.
Wear any turquoise jewelry, but if you don't have that, you should wear silver jewelry because it goes with anything. Also, I recommend Silver hoops for earrings.

First: that is a really pretty dress!


As for your hair, since that is a strapless dress either leave your hair all down or half up-half down look. A style that is really pretty is if you pull up half of your hair and put it in tight ringlet curls, then loosely curl what was left down into spiral curls. I had that for homecoming about two years ago and it was really pretty, plus it is something you can do at home if you want. Hope this helps!

Since you have a lot of different lengths you can do a 40's/50's inspired updo in the front, and leave the back half either down or up. If you decide to leave it down your could do curls and pin some up or just leave it all down.

But my response would be to make your eyes pop by making your eyes smoky. Thin gray layer on lid. then a black on crease. then a shimmery white below your brow bone. Just get some bobby pins that match your hair color and secure an updo. I am not sure what kind of hair type you have though and how long it is. It is always easier to put hair in an updo if it is ';dirty';. Don;' wash it today if you do not have to.





I would curl pieces of your hair before you put it up. You can start at the crown of your head and move forward. Then put up the sides and the back last. Grab some fresh flowers to cover up an bobby pins you have not been able to hide. You also have to use a lot of hair spray. Have a friend or family member there to help or at least hold the mirror.

I have red hair, green eyes, and tan skin. My dress is a maroon color with a black sheer overlay, it's an a-line dress, strapless, and goes to the floor.





For my hair I want a 40's style type of look, sorta something along the line of pin-up girls and dita von teese. A good example would be Christina Aguleria's new look. I would suggest something with your hair half up, the back of it down... a half-ponytail if you catch my drift. Maybe curls the ends a bit. Having heavy, thick hair sometimes tends to be so heavy that curls don't seem to last.





Try this before, see if you like it. Perhaps go to a beauty salon an ask then to help you based on the type of dress (suggest you take a Polaroid picture with you, show they type of dress. well depends on what shape your head is and what looks good on you. You shouldnt want to wear a hair style thats in, you should wear one thats you. Everyone one has different hair. not all hair styles look good. It might look good on on person then not so good on the other person.

do your natural hair for the prom. just wash it good and rinse very good, rinse for like 5-10 minutes. get a water filter for your shower head to take the clorine and bad stuff out to protect your hair. make sure you wash your hair about 8 hours b4 the prom to let it fully and NATURALLY dry. dont use hair spray ..., after u wash your hair make sure u dont lay on it while its drying, make sure your allways moving and sweating the whole time b4 prom so your hair will naturally get flatened, dries, and conditioned. about 2 hours b4 prom, take a shower to wash your body, the whole body, really good and shave if u need too. then dry off really good. then put on deoderant. then put on a perfume to your body. about 30 minutes b4 prom go to the bathroom, and brush for 3-5 minutes, floss really good, and use mouth wash for 5-10 minutes then rinse your mouth with water for 2 minutes. u may want to use mouth wash agian for another few minutes to be really fresh. then spray your prom outfit with perfume. and make sure u wear socks and gym shoes, not heels, so u dont get foot disease. and make sure the shoes you wear have aired out for 2 days and are your best shoes. so make sure to set your best shoes aside for 2-3 days b4 prom. make sure there clean and sprayed with perfume, u might want to let them sit wish baking soda 3 days b4 then knock the power out. u dont need to bring a purse, your going to the prom to sweat. bring a cooler or special lunch bag with ice pack and some bottles of filtered brita water cuz school water is nastty and u need to drink lots of water. or you could get your hair braided in 14 cornrolls after the washing process above, but u have to get your hair braided eairly the day of the prom cuz braiding takes 3 hours. but get it braided after u've let your hair dry. when u braid it, use gel.

dont straighten it or anything... if its wavy use it to your advantage...





try adding some thick loose curls to it and then you can do this thing (that probably has a name but i dont know haha) where you basically start at the back and bring sections to one side and clip it in with a hair grip and then just keep taking more and more sections until your whole hair is gripped at the side.. this'll make it like a curl side pony tail thing but itll look waaaay nicer because it ll be all pretty :)

Considering you have a strapless dress, i would opt for something that is partially up. Have your stylist look through pictures to help you find something that you would like. I am a hairdresser and for something like this I would curl it and pin up the top half, and loosely pin up the bottom so little curls will fall out. For the top, opt for something that is a little funky such as twists or loose braids. If you are looking for something more classy, i would do a side swept bang and smooth out the top parted off to one side and curl and pin up the rest. As for the makeup, i tend to go more for something neutral because you have so much color in your dress, you do not want to have that much color on your eyes, but make sure you use a bright pink shiny lip gloss. hope that helps!

I would go your hair down. If you hair is straight have your hairdresser do it in a variety of different size rollers. It comes out beautiful, but simple and let's the attention reflect on you and your dress.

Here's a cool ';pony style'; that you can do yourself....





With your hair in a pony, section it into pieces and twist each section until it starts to twist up on itself.


(You can get a smoother twist by dampening your hair and using a spray gel on each section.)


Secure the end of each section using either bobby pins or use another pony-tail holder to hold it all in place.





You might also consider making your own hair accessory by using ribbon or flowers that coordinate with your prom dress and attaching them to a pony-tail holder or to hair pins.

I did my own hair for my junior prom. I put my hair up in a pony tail and then did really thick curls. Use heavy hairspray.
Tell your hair dresser you want an up-do. Decide if you want elegant or funky. If elegant tell your hair dresser to leave a few strands down in spiral curls while you pull the rest back, curl it, and pin the curls into a bun type thing. When you pull it back, take about 2 or 3 2inch pieces and cross them over each other. You could also have her twist or french braid from the bottom in the back up to the bun. If you want funky you could 3-barrel curl it and then pull it up (my sister did this and it was really cute) or have them pull it back and kind of spike it.





If you can find a flower to match your dress that would be really cute tucked into your hair!

I would put half of it up. Leave the bottom layer loose and slightly curly (or wavy.) For make-up, please don't match your eyeshadow to your dress. In make-up world, this is a no-no. You should do a shimmery eye and lips. I personally love brown eyeshadow with a gold crease, and a light highlight color for underneath the brow. Use brown eyeliner on both the top and bottom lashes. For the bottom lash, only bring the brown color to the middle of your eye, it is great for night time looks.


Do a warm pink blush for your cheeks and a light pink gloss for your lips. It is always best to keep things simple, it makes the look so much more elegant.


Also, for the hair, just play around with it a little before the actual prom night, see what would be better for your bangs, to curl them, pomp them, pull them back, or to keep them swooped to the side.

Both are great, I kind of like the last one better, but either one works well. If your dress has a fuller skirt, the curls might be too much, so go for the other one. If your dress is shorter or pretty close to the body, then go for the Carrie Underwood one. You could try french plaiting your hair at the front so it's kept back from your face and thereby not messing up your makeup or getting in your way. I would keep it down at the back though to emphasize the feminine look - maybe give it a bit of a wave to make it really cute. I reckon you'd probably need someone else, like a hairdresser, to get the plaits to stay nice and tight.

I have prom in about a month and i have no idea what to do with my hair. I wanted to do this low bun thing but my hair is way to short, its a little past my shoulders. Does anyone have ideas???? Okay my prom is in may and already i am looking for hairstyles. i have thick brown hair around below shoulder length. i also have layers but i am wanted to grow these out. I have an idea of hair styles:


1) side low ponytail with loose curls


2) all up but with bits left out curly


3) half up half down


i haven't been able to find good pictures of both front and back pictures to show to the hairdresser.

I think that u should wear your hair up because if u wear it down it takes away from the whole low back dress aspect. A low ponytail to the side, a bun, a messy bun, curl your hair and put it into a messy bun or ponytail, part your hair and secure with a pretty clip in the back(peferably a green clip), part your hair and make a messy bun with curled hair, or add poof by taking a section of hair back down the middle of your head and add poof and secure with bobby pins would all look good with your dress.
